Marine Conservation Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
Supporting the next generation of ocean stewards
Oceanic Research Group, Inc. partners with the Women Divers Hall of Fame to offer a conservation scholarship of $1,000 in funding for deserving students pursuing marine-related undergraduate studies.
Applications are accepted annually in the fall, with awards announced the following spring. Join the scholarship recipients who receive funding each year to advance marine conservation research and education.
Who Can Apply
These scholarships are open to qualified applicants of any age and gender (women, men, non-binary persons) who are enrolled in an accredited undergraduate academic or research program in marine conservation or a related discipline.
What These Scholarships Support
These awards specifically support independent research and fieldwork projects that advance marine conservation. Scholarship funds will not support salary, tuition, living expenses, student loan payments, or prior incurred expenses.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their proposed project will advance marine conservation through a detailed research proposal outlining conservation objectives, methods, and anticipated results.
Application Requirements
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program in marine conservation or related field
- Detailed research proposal with conservation objectives, methods, and expected results
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can assess your ability to complete the proposed project
- Clear explanation of how the scholarship funds will advance marine conservation
Important Timeline & Requirements
- Applications: Accepted annually in the fall with a late October deadline
- Awards Announced: Early February
- Funds Distributed: Spring (March)
- Project Completion: Funds must be used within 18 months of award date
- Final Report: Required upon project completion
